ACTIVITIES WE HAVE!
Our program is every school day from 3 to 6
pm. These are the difficult hours for students and their families
because many parents work and students can attend our after-school
program and be in a safe, fun, and learning environment. This
Illinois TeenREACH program was established by the Illinois Department of
Human Services. The term TeenREACH stands for: Responsibility,
Education, Achievement, Caring, and Hope.
Our staff consists of certified teachers doing programs along with other
agencies and individuals who bring programming to the students during
these hours and on Saturdays and in the Summer Program. Students
enjoy field trips to the St. Louis Science Center, Historical Sites,
Land Between the Lakes, Southern Illinois University, and many other
destinations.
Our students are involved in community clean-up, entertaining at nursing
homes and assisted living homes in Metropolis, and the Marion Veteran's
Home. They meet and discuss community needs, and try to find ways
to help their community and the environment.
Our program provides these services to accomplish our goals:
*Academic Assistance
*Life Skills Education
*Parental Involvement
*Adult Mentors
*Sports & Recreation
*Cultural Programs & Activities
*Community Services Projects
*Evening Meals
We sponsor evening activities for parents and students. We serve
meals, have games, entertainment by students, and educational activities
during this time.
