Welcome to Reaching For Kids & Youth of Massac County!

Reaching for Kids & Youth of Massac County Inc. is a not-for-profit organization formed in order to promote programs for students during out of school hours.  The Executive Board of this organization has been involved with programs promoting school and student assistance for many years, beginning with Project Success Program in Illinois.  The members of this board are comprised of business/industry, community agencies, and school administrators.  This board works with our local advisory board to determine the needs and solutions for children in our community.

The Reaching For Kids Organization along with Massac Unit #1 and Joppa/Mapple Grove #38 school districts have after-school programs for students in Grades 4-8 at four school sites. These sites are at Brookport, Metropolis, Maple Grove, and Massac Jr. High. These after school programs have given students homework/academic assistance, Life Skills, field trips, recreation, sports, and meals. The TeenREACH and Illinois Community-Based Learn and Serve Grants through the Illinois Department of Human Services have funded these programs.
